UK pavilion built for Milan 2015 Expo, currently installed in Kew Gardens, London, UK
The project was awarded the following:
Best Public Building with Public Funding in the prestigious Blueprint Awards. International Prize for Best Pavilion Architecture by the Italian Association of Architects. Bureau of International Expositions gold medal for Best Architecture and Landscape. International jury prize for the best design and relevance to the Expo theme.
The Wolfgang Buttress designed ‘Hive’ continued the UK’s tradition of design excellence by winning the Bureau of International Expositions gold medal for Best Architecture and Landscape Design as well as many other awards.
The pavilion welcomed a total of 3.3 million visitors over the Expo’s six months duration, proving to be one of the most popular and immersive structures on the 110-hectare site.
